Why Test?

What a pain it is to test every single link in this website. What you are seeing in the front end is nothing. Every page has dozens of functions that must be tested before the new website builder can be used by anyone else.

Why test? Because if my websites don't work - my clients aren't happy. Without happy clients - I don't have a business. There are some items that slip through the cracks and those are usually quick and easy fixes. But it isn't worth the stress at any point to let these issues be ignored.

Before a website (or in this case the website builder) goes live I need to test them in a variety of modes:
  • User Mode - Does everything work for the website owner. Do the links work, do the upload, edit, delete and publish functions all work? How many steps does it take to get a functional website?
  • Visitor Mode - When your visitor comes to the website, is it easy to use? Can they find their way around the navigation? Does the information display the same in Internet Explorer AND in Mozilla's Firefox?
  • Search Engine Mode - Does the website builder add the proper coding that allows the search engines to properly index the content? Does the website builder make it easy for you - the owner to keep the site in tip-top SEO state?
When I've done my job, the website builder is fast, easy and intuitive. If I haven't tested, then little errors can cause great problems for my clients and that is unacceptable.
