About Incoming Links

Incoming links do help your site's results in the search engines. Google's webmaster guidelines says "Links help our crawlers find your site and can give your site greater visibility in our search results."

Natural Links An example of a natural link is the link to google in the paragraph above. This link is part of a text block with genuine information. Whenever you can get other webmasters to write about you or use you as an expert source, linked text using search terms - do so. Article writing is a great source for building Natural Links.

Directory Links Getting included in an industry directory can be of some help. Now the trick here is to get included in a legitimate directory, not a link farm scheme. A good example of an industry directory can be found at Zone 3 Garden Directory. This garden directory is limited to home and garden websites, approves each link by visiting the website, and gives information about each category.

Reciprocal Links Most webmasters ask other websites to link to them and promise a link back. These are not good or bad by themselves, you have to be discriminating. It's so important, we'll be adding more pages about planning and executing a reciprocal link campaign.

Pay-per-Click Ad links If you are willing to pay for incoming links, Google's AdWords are the best way to go. We'll be adding pages about paid inclusions at a later date.

Bad Links All link farm schemes are now discredited and will do more harm than good.
